Building and construction
Connect with your suppliers through EDI for a digitalized supply chain
A large and important industry
The building- and construction industry is a major contributor to economic growth in any country. However, the industry is also heavily exposed to economic fluctuations – which makes it essential to digitalize business processes and reduce administrative expenses where possible.
A construction project requires a lot of different material, and the surrounding ecosystem consists of thousands of suppliers. Keeping track of what is ordered, when it is delivered, and verifying and checking invoices can be challenging.
Digitalizing your supply chain with Logiq
Logiq has been a partner and service provider to businesses across the building- and construction supply chain ever since we came into existence. Companies in this supply chain, from producers and manufacturers to wholesalers and distributors, have already adopted EDI – facilitating the process for building- and construction companies wanting to digitalize their supply chain. By integrating your Purchase-to-Pay and Accounts Payable processes with your suppliers through EDI, you can:
- Increase quality, speed and efficiency of your purchase-to-pay process
- Reduce manual administration
- Drive down costs
- Document where and when the goods are to be delivered
Logiq is a premier EDI service provider in the Nordics, and we have the expertise and experience to help you achieve your objectives.
Tailored solutions for the Nordic market
Logiq is a Nordic company with global reach. Our core market is in the Nordic region, and we are highly involved in initiatives related to EDI on this scene.
The latest development in the building and construction industry is a greater attention to the CO2 emissions and environmental effects of construction activities, including new standards of reporting that need to be fulfilled.
Logiq has participated in the development of a new standard for EDI documents, that enables environmental data sharing in the building and construction industry (BEAst Supply 4.0). The standard is developed on top of the international Peppol document specifications.
Logiq Enrich
When sending BEAst Supply 4.0 messages with environmental data, the sender needs to add data from the products’ EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) in the digital documents. This often requires a lot of resources – such as custom development and integration.
Logiq Enrich can assist suppliers by adding EPD information from databases such as NOBB, FINFO, and others to the business document – before generating and sending a valid BEAst Supply 4.0 document to the customer.
Transaction Data Hub
Electronic documents, such as electronic invoices and despatch advices (shipping notices), can be used to record the material that has been delivered to a construction project. Transaction Data Hub is a solution, based on Logiq Connect, that can streamline the recording of the material received and the collection of environmental data for the material.
The sources for environmental data can be:
- EPD information in the electronic documents (based on BEAst Supply 4.0)
- EPD information from databases such as NOBB, FINFO, eco-portal, and more
- Documentation reported directly from suppliers (especially when subcontractors are used)
- And more...
The data recorded can be used for reliable and traceable environmental ("as-built") reporting based on actual material delivered to the construction projects.
The solution is currently being piloted by leading players in the construction industry. Feel free to contact us for more information.
